CELL PHONE PARENTING
Cell phones have become very common at Flagstone, students as young as second and third grade are coming to school with phones.  Without proper guidance, and parental controls students CAN be exposed to content that is far more advanced than their emotional maturity.  Please take a moment to help educate your child on the safety and use of proper cell phone use.  The below resource is our number one go-to resource site for how to effectively teach technology in schools and home.  The link below will not only direct you to resources for Tweens on cell phone parenting but also to very useful digital citizenship resources to help teach your child.

Bullying through Text
Recently our fifth and sixth graders have had more incidences of using technology inappropriately causing a disruption to the learning processes.  Some of these incidences include mean texting about friends with other friends, causing significant friendship issues to erupt during the school day and beyond, many of which are bullying.  At FSE we take these incidences very seriously and do follow up on any and all incidences of bullying through texting.  At the beginning of the year, we ask all students and parents in grades 3-6  to sign a tech agreement that outlines our rules.  Please help us guide our students in making good decisions by reviewing this agreement.  It can be found HERE. If your child has been a victim of mean or inappropriate texts please contact the office, as this is not tolerated.

CASTLE ROCK REGION MEETING TO DISCUSS DISTRICT FINANCIAL CHALLENGES
Please join Castle Rock Region Principals and SAC chairs on April 30th at 6:00 PM at DCSH for a special meeting to discuss our current financial struggle in Douglas County School District.  Please see the FLIER HERE and information about the event HERE.
