March Principal's Blog

Dear FSE Families,
Next week is conference week, hopefully, you have signed up for a time to meet with your child and their teacher to celebrate their progress.  This is a special time for your child to share their successes and goals for the end of the school year and the beginning of the next school year.  Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have not yet scheduled a time.  Below are some great questions to ask your child at conferences:

  • What piece of work are you the proudest of this year?
  • What goal did you set that you feel you met?
  • What goal did you set that you are still working on?
  • What did passion did you realize you have this year?
Conferences are such a perfect time to put your electronics away and connect and celebrate your child.  Enjoy this time!

Spring break is coming, what a perfect time to have your child find some new books to read!  Please don't forget that all DCSD students have access to over 1000 FREE books on our online line library.
After spring break (April 8th) CMAS will begin for grades 3-6.  This is our statewide assessment to show how our students are performing in comparison to their grade level peers in our school, district, and state.  If you would like to see some practice questions they are available now through Pearson.   Please click on THIS LINK to access the practice tests.

Have a wonderful spring break,
Kelli Smith, FSE Principal
