Student Safety
Please remember that if you are on campus to sign in at the office and get a visitor badge,
this includes the playground.  Please also remind your child that they should not run
up to the kiss and go lane during their recess time if they see you picking up a sibling.
Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Flagstone School Accountability Committee
We have an opening for one parent liaison on our Flagstone School Accountability Committee (FSAC).
Flagstone  SAC is an advisory committee, not a governing body, that advises the principal on school
performance, budget priorities and parental engagement. The purpose of the committee is to inform,
encourage and provide opportunities for parent and community members to be involved in the input of
planning and evaluation of the school’s instructional program and quality improvement processes.
Each SAC is comprised of parents, community members, principals and teachers.
Topics discussed at FSAC include:
Parent Engagement
Flagstone Budget Priorities
Flagstone Unified Improvement Plan (UIP)
FSAC meetings are held quarterly or as needed/determined by our committee.  They begin at 4:15 and last
an hour or so.
We invite you to join us as we strengthen our school and community together!
  • Learn more by attending the DC Feeder  Accountability Committee meeting this Mon. Feb. 12th
at DCHS 5 - 6:30.

Student Council Reminder:
All Student Council Representatives have a meeting tomorrow, Friday, February 9th, at 8:15 in the
Learning Commons.   Please encourage your student to wear their Student Council t-shirt every Friday.

We Want Your Input!
It is that time of year where we are planning our school budgets for the next school year.  Our staff,
and school accountability committee, have both weighed in on what they would like to prioritize for our
school budget for the 18-19 school year, and we wanted your input too. Our staff selected the following
four priorities as the most critical to consider and our school SAC agreed.  They are:
1. Writing Curriculum (the investigation and purchasing of a comprehensive program)
2. Class size  (staffing to keep them as low as fiscally possible)
3. Completion of our instructional student books (this was started by PTO with our fun run money but not
finished)
3. Intervention support (reading, math, and behavior) for students that need extra support.

Please let us know what you think about these recommendations or other ones that you might have.  As you
know, our budgets are limited, so if we prioritize one idea or program, another idea or program would need
to be reconsidered.  On another note, our specials programs will continue the same as this year, including
full-time teachers for these important parts of our curriculum.
