February Principal's Blog

Dear FSE Families,
This past month has been one of the best at FSE!  We were honored with being able to support JT (one of our 4th graders) as our DCHS Wish Week student.  We spent the week honoring Hogwarts, JT's favorite place and raising money so he could go to Harry Potter World in Flordia next month.  Our entire community, all our elementary feeder schools, Mesa Middle School and Douglas County High School raised over 52,000 dollars during this week for Make a Wish Colorado.  Not only will JT get to go on his wish, but other children will also get to go on their wishes, thanks to the community-wide effort to raise this much money. Thank you all for all you have done to support this very special boy!

Other Updates:
  • As we are deep into winter, please remember to send your kids to school in winter gear, if it is above 20 degrees they will go outside.  If the little ones want to play in the snow it is recommended that they bring snow pants and boots.
  • Don't forget to read our weekly Thursday Links that are sent out every Thursday afternoon for important school updates and calendar events.
  • Don't forget to download the Bounce App if you are struggling with helping your child with math homework.  Remember all concepts students are working on at home should be a review, if you are finding that not to be true please contact your child's teacher.
  • We have been approved to received No U-Turn signs on Lovington Street.  I will keep everyone posted when they will arrive.  In the meantime, we thank all of you for adhering to this request to keep our students safe.

Wish Week Fun!
