Student Safety
Please help us keep our kids and staff safe.  We have had several drivers speeding through our crosswalks and texting while driving around our school.  Please be aware of students as they are traveling to and from school.  We appreciate your support in this ver important safety issue.  Our local law enforcement officers are supporting us in this concern.

Book Fair
The Scholastic Fall Book Fair will be arriving soon.  The fair opens on Monday, November 14th, and runs through Friday, November 18th.  We are looking for parents, grandparents, or high school students to assist with this event.  Volunteers are needed to help with set up and decorating (Friday, 11/11), running a cash register, helping students complete a wish list, assisting students in shopping along with restocking product.  Please consider joining us - the link to the sign up is below.  Contact Debbie Petrillo (debbie.petrillo@dcsdk12) with any questions. All profit from this event benefits Flagstone's library.  We're looking forward to seeing you there!

On Wednesday,11/16,  there will be a Read Aloud in the Galleria from 6-7 p.m. Come join us as Mrs. Sprigg, Mrs. Zellmer, and Ms. Johanna share some of their favorite books.  Kids can wear their pj's and enjoy a cookie during the read aloud.  We will be open until 7:30 p.m. for late night shopping!

Calling all artists!
Flagstone is looking for an amazing student-created cover for the 2016 - 2017 yearbook! This year, we are going with a ROCKS traits theme! The cover should also have a spot to display that this is the 2016 - 2017 school year! If you are interested in creating your design please turn them into Mrs. Mallory’s classroom (Blue Pod Room 107). All covers are due before Thanksgiving break!

Spelling Bee Information
If you are interested in trying out for this year's Spelling Bee, please attend the written portion on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 4:15 p.m. in the Flagstone gym. From this written portion, the top twenty five will be chosen for the school-wide spelling bee on January 9, 2016. There is no registration necessary, so if you are interested, please just head to the gym after school. Thank you!
Please email Brooke Basner at bmbasner@dcsdk12.org, Lynn Robnett at lrobnett@dcsdk12.org, or Adriann Valdez at adriann.valde@dcsdk12.org with any questions or concerns.

BOX TOPS
We need your help!  Flagstone's Student Council has begun collecting Box Tops.  Please neatly cut out any Box Tops you may have at home, check the expiration date, and then either glue or tape them to the Box Tops sheet your student brought home last week.  You may also put the cut out Box Tops in a bag.  Make sure to send the Box Tops back to school with your student!  We are having a school-wide friendly competition to see which class can collect the most Box Tops each month!  Each Box Top is worth 10¢, so it will add up quickly!  At this time we are only collecting Box Tops, and are not accepting Labels for Education.  Thanks so much for all of your help!
