Kindness Week
This week we talked about how to be kind on technology including email and social media.  We talked with students about what digital citizenship was and why it is important to think about how we treat each other on the many platforms that the internet provides.  Students learned about what a digital footprint is and why it is important to be aware of what you are putting out on the internet because it never goes away.
Next weeks theme is being kind to yourself.  Our goal is to bring awareness to positive self talk.  We want students to understand that we shouldn't get down on ourselves when we make a mistake and that it is a normal part of life.
We will end our kindness campaign on Friday the 24th with an all school pajama day so we can start dreaming about kindness.

The Great American Eclipse-- August 21, 2017 On Monday, August 21, FSE students and staff will be given the amazing opportunity to view the solar eclipse via live streaming in their classrooms.  For the safety of all students, all recesses will be held indoors on this day.  We are asking that parents of our part-time kindergarten classroom pick up their children in the classrooms to avoid the temptation of looking up at the sun while waiting for pickup.  While the length of the eclipse will last from 10:23am to 1:15pm that day, the maximum viewing time will be at 11:47am.  If you would like to live stream the eclipse, visit  We hope you’ll talk to your children about this once-in-a-lifetime event! Updates This year we adopted a new math program called enVision.  After much research and discussion we felt that this program was the best fit for our students based on feedback from parents and the achievement of our students. Your child's teacher will give you access to the online games and materials to help your children at home with their math achievement.  Please reach out to your child’s teacher should you have any questions regarding this new program. ROCKS: We have refined and updated our ROCKS curriculum to focus more on a growth mindset rather than punitive measures in our teaching of these important character traits.…
